Rimming & Felching

RIMMING

Rimming or anilingus involves using one’s tongue to explore someone’s arse. It can be a form of play by itself or a great technique used as a part of foreplay and to get the arsehole relaxed before introducing fingers, toys or cocks.
If the person rimming is sensitive to shit and body odour, a wash or a shower is a good idea to avoid being put off. Some guys even introduce flavours (honey, chocolate) into this practice to make it a more enjoyable experience. Note that food high on acidity and spices can irritate the lining of the anus and rectum.

Rimming is low risk for getting or passing on HIV or Hepatitis C and B but it requires both exposure to an infected body fluid and damaged tissue for a point of entry. Saliva contains very little of these viruses but blood could pose a risk, say from a cut lip or from razor nicks from shaving around the arse. Abrasions, cuts and inflamed sores in and around the mouth or the anus could be points of entry. Further into the anus, Hepatitis B Virus and HIV can penetrate the intact lining of the rectum and cause infection without needing any damage. If you rinse or gargle with salty water, mouthwash or alcohol and experience any sharp stinging sensations, this is an indication that you may have cuts in your mouth.

When rimming it is easy to pick up other infections such as Herpes, Warts, LGV, Syphilis, Gonorrhoea, Chlamydia, Hepatitis A, and Shigella. A dam or a piece of latex from a condom cut along its side can be used to make this practice safer. A vaccine is readily available for Hepatitis A and B from your doctor or sexual health centre - get it! For more information about HIV and STIs

FELTCHING

Feltching is sucking semen out of someone’s arse. If you have mouth ulcers or sores, small cuts, gingivitis or gum disease, there is a possibility of getting HIV if you have cum from an HIV positive partner in your mouth.
Usually, for feltching to happen unprotected anal sex and cumming inside someone has to occur. Anal sex without condoms with guys of unknown HIV status carries the highest risk with regard to getting or passing on HIV. However, in some cases sperm is collected in a condom or in the mouth of a willing participant to then reintroduce it into someone’s arse to play. This exchange of body fluids has a similar risk of infection as unprotected anal intercourse. For more about minimising risks of getting or passing HIV go to Fucking.
