Men are faking orgasms more than you think
Recently, my friend Hugo shared with me that he’s been faking orgasms with his partner, Rick. Apparently, it’s been going on for the past three months.I don’t know all of the details but it sounded like he started taking a new anti-depressant, which was making it difficult for him to ejaculate.
Curious to learn more, I asked him how this whole faking thing works. Quick background: Hugo is a top (at least that’s what he tells me) and hardly ever goes versatile.
“When Rick’s about to *** I just make noises and fake it man,” he shared. “I’m still attracted to him. But the meds make it hard sometimes to pump the well.”
That made sense. I’ve known a lot of gay men who take a pill for depression. One of the side effects I hear most about are problems climaxing.
Intrigued, I decided to conduct some research on the issue of faking it and men. Let’s be honest. Historically, women are the ones who have been tagged with this activity – not the guys.
But as it turns out, science suggests guys are faking orgasms too and A LOT more than you might think!

According to a recent study in the journal, Sexual Relationship Therapy, men are master fakers! For this particular study, researchers surveyed 230 American and Canadian men (straight, bi and gay) between the ages of 18-29 and asked them about their general sexual experiences over the past four months.
Approximately 30% of the men admitted they had faked squirting their man-juice during an intimate encounter. Now bear in mind, that 30% represents only the guys who fessed up to faux.
A previous study published in the Journal of Sex Research (2010) found that around the same number (28%) of men put acted out a squirt.
The new study revealed that guys fake orgasms during a variety of sexual acts but particularly during insertive activities (aka top). The most common reason shared for pretending to discharge was to boost a partner’s ego.
There were other motivations as well, including not wanting to upset a mate and or because they were intoxicated (mostly from alcohol).
Apparently, the least cited reason was because the person they were with was unappealing.

Surprising Results
Here is what was surprising about the study. The research found that guys who faked a fountain were very satisfied with their relationship … both romantically and sexually. And they also tended to put on an act to make their mate happy. In some cases, they did it to create the appearance of simultaneous orgasm.
While certainly deceitful, their motivations seem to come from a place of good intentions.
All of this certainly stimulates deeper thinking, doesn’t it?
In gay-speak, let’s get down to the nuts and bolts and try to figure this out.
Essentially, the combined research studies suggest that a lot of tops are faking their loads big time while letting go inside of bottoms. Going by the studies, it appears they do this because they want to please their man.

30% of the men fake it
This is not to say that bottoms can’t or don’t fake it. That likely happens too. But when you picture it all in your mind, it’s easy to see how a top has an easier time getting away with it. Well, there’s something to be said for guys who swallow. No faux loads there!
